I have an ancient Bobcat 444 that I've repowered with a 23 HP Briggs. I used the factory set up to drive the hydraulic pump, which consists of a sort of flex plate attached to an adapter that goes on the pumps input shaft. These are attached to one side of the crankshaft. The adapter is my issue. It's a simple internally splined affair that attaches to the flex plate with 2 bolts and then on to the crank. A Lovejoy type coupler would work great here but I need a source for an internally splined tube/hub to fit a 3/4" shaft with, (I think!), 11 splines. I ordered a new adapter from Bobcat, but this is the 3rd one I've needed and while they used to run $35-ish now they're up over $90. When I get it I'll know the proper measurements, but I'm not sure where to look for the splined tube. Yes, I know, it's a 50+ year old machine, but it works good otherwise and will fit in my low ceiling old dairy barn. I have a hard time justifying the $5-8K a replacement machine, a dependable one anyway, would cost.
I've researched this a little, but if anyone knows of a good source for such stuff, I'd sure appreciate the information. Thanks!
