Barley harvest. Not a tractor.

Working on our last field of barley. CFO/truck driver/wife
took this shot last night.

Nice!

I combined my 4 acres of barley a few weeks ago, planted on my sand knob hill where nothing else grows well; after a wet spring made it very late to plant small grains, it dried up and was too dry for even barley, so had poor results. But, that is the point of doing such a small field, try to make something out of nothing.

Hope you have better results in a better effort there. :)

The variety of barley we grew this year is for feed. I grew malting barley for almost 40 years and finally got tired of the way the companies that make the malt for the beer companies treated the grain producers. Cattle feeders and hog feeders are way easier to get a long with.

It has an Case look tome, but guessing.

The unload arm has an unusual end drop look to it?

They contract Malting Barley near Jamestown N.D. and Fargo, there always friendly in the winter when they are wanting grower's to come and sign a contract, but they turn ugly towards you when the first load hits the scale !
