Got the Bush Hog out to mow the pasture and the ram would not go up or down, any ideals what could be wrong.

Likely, one of the male hydraulic coupler tips is not completely plugged in, or the ball didn't get popped open as it coupled, likely due to excessive pressure due to an change in temperature since the couplers were last unplugged.

What happens when you try?

Need to narrow it down to a problem with the tractor or the ram.

when i push the levers you can see the hoses jump a little like it's trying.

i did have a little trouble getting them plug in.

Pressure on one side not letting the other open.

One of the hoses is not plugged in completely. Unplug both wrap a rag around the ends and tap it on the hitch to release the pressure in the hoses. Now plug them back in.
