I am removing the crankshaft pulley on the super a so I can get the crank reground. Do I heat the pulley or just use a puller to remove it. I have been a member here for over 20 years, I read more than I talk. Thank you in advance for any help. Bill

They are super tight a normal puller will shatter the pulley. Use a good sized bearing splitter behind the pulley then pull on that. Heating it with a propane torch all around will assist removal. I polish up the crank and inside the pulley to reassemble. It needs to be tight as it draws in place, but not as tight as usually found. The bearing splitter is mandatory. I had one in a 60 ton hydraylic press with splitter and well warmed before it came loose. Probably had 15 ton on it. The front housing was dangling on it while in the press. Jim

You may want to take the front cover anf take front cover, pulley and crankshaft to the shop as they shall lave a press

You will need a backer plate to pull on this one is 1/2" plate 7x7
