We have an unknown brand auger cart that I would like to identify. The previous owner changed the wheels he said from the original 10.00-20 to what's on it now, painted it red from the looks of underlying orange paint, and I think modified the auger drives which is where the problem lies. If anyone knows the brand of cart, did it originally have 1 gearbox to run both the horizontal and vertical unload auger ? If so where can 1 be obtained ?

That is a Wetmore Grain cart, made in Tonkawa Oklahoma. Originally had a vertical chain with stub shaft from PTO
 
Just from past experience with augers in bin if you leave it like it is you want to use a tractor with a closed center system on it. Otherwise the hydraulic auger will not run very fast to keep up with the pto side of things. We had a seed auger in a bin and an 8inch pto auger to the truck. ran it with a 674 which would run both augers. But the hydraulic lagged behind in speed. I know there was a difference in sizes and that makes some difference. but the 6inch hydraulic was slow running without speeding the engine up and then the pto was running way faster than it needed to. Just my observation from that. If you look at a Kinze cart you will see how they connect up on the gearbox and chain arrangement. Probably can contact Surplus center for a gear box for it. I'm sure KInze could also fix you up for a price too.
 
Thank you both for the replies. The problem is that the hydraulic motor is not adequate enough by the time the tractor engine is sped up enough for max tractor hydraulics to keep up with the horizontal floor auger. I've tried running it on anything from a CIH 5230 to a CIH 7120 with tractor hydraulics turned wide open. My thoughts are to try and put a gearbox on the vertical auger driven via a chain from the horizontal auger shaft. Is a 1:1 shaft ratio for both augers adequate ? I'm planning to keep it on 540 pto.
