MF gas water pump update

A few days ago I posted about replacing the water pump on my MF65. The pump came today and it looks good, the gasket doesn't however. It looks like a thick 2 ply gasket and it is damaged at the bolt holes. One of the plys is torn from one of the bolt holes to the ID of the gasket. Would you use this gasket? Thanks

with a gasket sealer, yes.

I'm with both Steve and 2x4 with a sealer yes, and if not then make a new gasket. I have done both in some instances . Where ther is not a lot of pressure or where you can see if it leaks then yes if higher pressure and can't see if it leaks then no make the new one.

Thanks for the replies, I think I will probably try using it with a sealant. I usually would use a little rattle can of a tacky red adhesive that I think is a loctite product on the pump side. Thinking that should be enough?

Use Permatex silicone-the ultra hi-temp. It won't leak. Mark.
