Peebles Show 2022

Off to the show! Peebles Agricultural Show was held in very 'un-Scottish' temperatures of 30 degrees C. Hard on livestock exhibits, but the tractors and drivers did not mind. Not a great turn-out of vintage tractors this year, though......!

Hello jamstra. Very nice photos. That is one very nicely restored MF 135. It looks as tough you must register your tractor in Scotland as you would your automobile. Thanks for the post sir. Wingnut

Hi wingnuttx, all road-going agricultural vehicles are registered and issued with licence plates from new, and have 'road tax' to pay annually (not as much as for a car or truck). However, road tax for that age of vehicle is free (if older than 1982), so for old tractors it's just an administration thing, not a cost! But even if it sits in the yard and is never used, we are supposed to have filed a SORN declaration for it (Statutory Off Road Notification) or, in theory, the government could tow it away and have it crushed!
