Moving McCormick Deering

I dragged the old McCormick Deering 15-30 out to cut the grass and weeds that grow around it this morning. Usually once a year it gets done. My grandfather and great uncles had one of these to run the thresher, chopper, wood saw, even a little field work in later post war years. This is not the same one.

(quoted from post at 13:01:04 08/11/22) We had one for plowing and the sawmill.

Spade lugs got it buried a couple times in sandy soil.
I don't know but have a feeling this one with the spade lugs might outpull the 2140 on rubber.

Looking good. I see yours still has the hood and side panels. Not too many left that still do.

Rusty,

You mention this is not the same one your grandfather and uncles had. It would be interesting to know how you acquired this one. Also did you ever have this one running? I remember riding on a 22-36 (related to the 15-30) that Dad owned when I was about 6 or 7 years old. It had steel wheels and was very rough riding on hard roads but nice in the fields.

We dragged this one home as a project for my little brother to work on. A neighbour we worked for said take it and see if we can get it running. My brother did eventually get it unseized and turning over and I think it did actually run for a bit on a pull start. I guess bigger projects came along and this one became a lawn ornament in the almost 50 years it has been here.

Really appreciate all the detail in that video, but again I can't hit the LIKE button as it sends me to a screen that requires stuff I won't provide. Oh well I do like it. Thanks.

I bought 4 n fords at a consignment auction and they gave me one. I found a man who reworked the carb, fresh gas and plugs, a short pull it started and ran great. The fords went to the scrap yard.

Yes, if the engine is not seized up too bad there is a chance of starting but this one is way past that.
I'm surprised people are still scrapping tractors that old.
