John Deere model 11 trail mower gearbox stuck

I was mowing my road ditches this week and the slip clutch went off and will not quit even with a clean sickle bar. Seems like the lower flywheel where the pitman rod is attached is stuck as well. Is there a roller chain in the gearbox? Maybe the roller chain gave way and it is caught behind a sprocket? Has anyone worked on the gearbox? Are there any shortcuts?

Have you checked that gear oil level is full? Possible failed roller chain &/or tapered roller brg

Gear box is full of 80/90 oil. Has always been checked and does not leak. Probably the chain.
