For the past few weeks I have been green
chopping some odd corners around the farm
for the beef cows. Chopping with a 3020. I
made a few changes to the 16a like
replacing the spout and base with one from
a 35 chopper. Next winter I would like to
build a feeder wagon. Tom

Dad bought one of those new choppers and it was my job to chop grass for the cows every day. I don't remember ever having a problem with it.

We had a few of those over the years- the original was a 15, the 5 foot cut. It's life ended one day when someone was green chopping with the A equipped with power block. Someone had left a chain in the field; the chopper found it. It pretty much destroyed the rotor, even twisted the splines of the tractor PTO!

Tom, your pictures always look like they came from a Deere catalog. I love it! Next time hook the chuck wagon on!

We call it the 3015. I had a 3010 diesel and when it needed overhauled we put a 3020 head on it so we could switch to the pencil style injectors. Also added 4020 fuel filter base to get rid of the 10 series style. The tractor was high hour and always needed something so I came across a low hour 3020 gas and we swapped engines. You are the first person that has ever noticed. Also I do have plenty of Chuck Wagons. Tom

Have used it for 3 years now Picked up flair box from local farmer the floor was junk. Paid 50 dollars for it. had junk running gear took it to salvage yard. built the flatbed 7 feet wide cows have no problem reaching center 8 foot might be a strech for them could always put upside down v board down center of 8 foot.

Our chopper was a no 10, first model made and we made the bed only 6 feet wide so the cows could reach center but we had Gurnsey and gurnsy-angus in the mix and before someone says angus is no good as a milk cow they were just as good as the fully gurnsey or the holstine or brown swiss. But the dairy heard left in Nov of 1980 Did a lot of mowing with that no 10 unit even after the blower went complete to pieces without it or the auger or spout.
