Hydraulics...

I have a 70's gas powered Massey Furguson Turfmaster 2135. Yeah, it's an industrial model, not a farm model. Someone added a Ford loader, controls, and the diverter valve under the seat. It lifts, it drops, it scoops, but it's bloody slow at scoop/dump. Actually what I'll call 'power dump' is non existent. The diverter valve is a pain if I'm using anything off the 3pt/PTO. So, what are my options for adding a dedicated pump/resevoir for the loader? And does anyone have an MF Epicyclic Reduction Gearbox laying around? Just dreaming.

I see a couple of options, none really great. One would be a front pump. As most industrial tractors came with that, the parts are usually available from one
source or another. Most likely the mounting bolt holes and such are there and hopefully not damaged.

The reduction gearbox you mentioned, is that the planetary on the back of the transmission? If so, and you plan to be in there working on that at some point,
you could look into adding a factory style auxiliary pump onto the lift pump. If you have a two stage clutch, then it wouldn't be live, but you can probably
live with that. It too, would take some scrounging, fabricating, and some custom engineering. Not sure which would be cheaper, but in my opinion the front
pump would be the better option.

"adding a factory style auxiliary pump onto the lift pump"

That wouldn't be live? Yes, I believe I do have a two stage clutch. Wouldn't that be live the same as the 3pt lift pump for one stage of clutch? What would I need to add a an Aux pump?

I've had this tractor for five years. It runs well, I've switched it to a one wire alternator, has good tires, got it for darn cheap, I just want my loader to work better. I don't know that I can add a pump to the forward end of the crank shaft. Yes, I could weld up mounts for an oil tank..

I put a front mount pump on a d-17 allis chalmers several years ago to operate a loader. it was a good size pump and I put it's own reservoir on as well as a two spool valve for the loader as well as a two spool valve for rear hydraulics. It work really well and caused no problems. I used it to mow with a haybine as well as pulled a small round baler. plenty of oil supply so no waiting on the gate to open or close. Also no problem cranking to start although it was a gas tractor.

So it sounds like I have the best option of adding an auxiliary pump to the lift pump. Correct? I have the loader/controls mounted/functional. Will need the pump and some hoses made. Even if that's $4-500, that's certainly an improvement to the machine and I can't see losing value. Can someone point me in the direction of parts/kit to do so? Google has been a bit confusing.

Did anyone find out how to do this? - I'm looking to do the same thing

Peter 11, Welcome to the forums.

You will help yourself by starting your own post. Give the information about your tractor and fully describe your needs. This site uses two different views. People using Modern view will see your post and the original post you are tagged onto, so they see the "whole" story related to your post. People using the Classic view only see your post as "Re" to the original post, none of that original post since Classic does not bring old posts to the top like Modern does; they stay in the list where they were posted in time where you post shows as current. People can swap over to Modern to see the original post, but likely many will not bother to do that.

If you have a Massey Ferguson you may want to post your question down below on the Massey Harris & Massey Ferguson Forum. Here is a link to it.
