The Shed

There is a Ford 8600, a road grader and a couple of Fordson E27N in there somewhere. A bit further down the same shed is a couple of brand new Ford 1 ton pickups in pieces, various trucks and an aeroplane.

The owner was a friend of mine who used to be a Ford dealer. He collected all parts for tractors when he came across them and kept a stock for his customers in case they needed them. Problem was, he never sold any. If you asked him for something he would always going to be needing it in a couple of days, it would still be there years later. The outside of his property was also full of tractors of all types, dismantled and left as they were.

He has passed away now about three years ago, a really lovely man but I suppose we all have our faults.

The winter of 21 when I was in FL, the neighbor to where I was staying had 2 60'x100' sheds that looked nearly that bad + tons of stuff outside. Couple of cars in the one shed where in the $30,000 to $40,000 range.

When I build a second pole barn at my other property, I made it 14 ft tall so I could build a loft for things I want to keep out of the elements.

Then I bought 4 ft titan forks with a brush guard.
My kubota is the elevator to my loft.
Currently the loft is 8x30x8 ft high.
I figure I can extend the loft 8 feet at a time to keep my good stuff off the floor.

Yesterday I swept the floor just to have something to do.

I put some red oak and sycamore boards on the special shelves I made above the workbenches.

No way could I be happy working in my pole barn if it looked trashed up..

Nice place.
I don't believe in spending time in my pole barn if it's too hot or too cold.
There is always a cool morning in the summer
or a warm afternoon in the winter.
If it is too cold in winter, the fish are always biting in Florida..

I have a 24x24 attached heated garage that I can heat with a 1500 watt

baseboard heater if I get the urge to do something in the winter. I can park in the pole barn.

IF I open the door to the kitchen, I can blow cool air from the house to cool the garage. The garage is super insulated.

The finished garage is my standby place to work.
