our minster has resigned from our church.
Now the search begins for a new one. This could take a year or more. I hope not as we are already struggling

Our Baptist church went through the same thing a few years ago. We finally found a new pastor. Just keep praying about it. Stan

Sure ! Hopefully you find one soon
The deacons took over sermons ,they take turns once a month ,actually they are very good !
Pastor has been gone three years or more .

Our church is on our third pastor in 41 years. The first died in a car crash after 16 years. The second had been an assistant pastor and was brought back. He lasted six years and was run out by a group of malcontents. Our current pastor will soon have been with us for 18 years. We were looking for a graduate of the Master's Seminary, and found him. After two years the malcontents all left. I strongly recommend that if you are a group of real Christians that desire preaching straight out of the Bible, that you look for a Master's grad.

Prayers sent. It took us 3 years to find our Pastor. He's been with us 25 years now and is in his seventies now. Don't settle for a pastor, make sure he's the one God wants you to have.

showcrop if you mean the Masters Seminary that is run by Grace Church (John MacArther) you are for sure correct. They do not get better than that.

Yes, my son graduated from there, as well as out pastor and a few others from our church over the years. The program there is strictly for real Christians, and when they are called to a church the members had better be looking for real teaching. It is a shame how many formerly Christian pastors now are leaving for inclusiveness and prosperity and various other worldly off shoots.

Prayers spoken. What Christian denomination? The devil is out patrolling the earth. May the right man answer God's call.

To search for a new Pastor is not an easy task. I am strongly in support of fervent prayer for 'God's man' for the the pulpit to be filled. I have been on search committees twice for finding a new Pastor. As believers we wish to believe the best about people and we jump to the conclusion that when he's a Pastor he must be very honest. Don't abide by that conclusion! Any candidate will put the best foot forward. It is our job to check things out, we often settle for less than we ought to know. We must pray BUT God will NOT do for us what is our job to do. When doing reference checking, previous places of serving can be reluctant in sharing the truth because it could be thought of as 'judging' on their part. The result is you don't get what you're looking for. Pray for the wisdom of Solomon in drawing out the hidden truths. To spare time, I won't share how our church got hood winked.

our church elects a pastor from the congregation. we have 3 and one deacon. no formal school in any of them works well. fire and brimstone and truth every Sunday.
