Things like square bales of hay ain't as much fun when the boys leave home and the old man has to do the dirty work(LOL) My dad bought a big round baler within a year of me and my cousin getting off farm jobs.

My dad decided to get out of the dairy business the year I went to college.
Dad sold the farm, all the equipment and got into installing furnaces and air conditioners.

My dad and I formed a partnership farming,with the new job I had money to put into the farming operation to get some much needed things,he did the daily stuff and I worked on weekends and time off as needed.
Worked good for both of us for over 25 years.

That reminds me of the story of the farmer who won a couple of million dollar's on the lottery. When asked whether he would give up farming he said, Not until I have spent it all. :0)
