2090 Case 8 speed

Worth a shot I guess but doubt anybody has much information on the Case 2090 8 speed range shifter. On mine a pin on the shift rail has broken off allowing the whole shift rail to move, not just the shifting forks. We are having a hard time removing the broken part of the pin that is still in the rail on the tractor. Looking like we will have to remove the shift rail and forks to work on it. These 8 speeds are rare and don't often give problems so its hard to find anybody with experience. My brother worked at Case for years and says it is so long since he had to work on one that he is having a hard time figuring it out as well. Parts book says it is a 5/16 x 1 inch grooved pin. Item #15 in image.

(quoted from post at 10:18:28 07/11/22) The 90 series 8spd is almost totally different from the 7/830 7/870 8 spd used by pullers.
Yes, quite different. My brother got it apart last night having to remove all the detent springs, etc. and got the whole shift rail out. The retaining pin was not broken but had worn so much that it slipped inside the shift rail and was not holding it in place. Hopefully a new pin will fix it.
