This spring I had trouble with my IH 184 carb and had to take it apart and clean it before I could start the tractor from winter storage. Got the tractor running but have had problems with it running too lean
all spring until now. I've had the carb apart a couple of times and everything was clean. Today after taking it apart one more time I found the gasket between the 2 carb halves was on backwards allowing an air
leak on one side. I know its been like that all year as I leave the venturi in the gasket so it only goes back the way it came out. Its a zenith carb and its shaped different on one side that the other. Worst
part is it is obvious looking at it when reassembling. I'm sure glad I don't have to pay myself by the hour for mechanic work.
