Was wondering what oil you guys use in oil cans these days. I just use what ever jug of motor oil is open in my can. I'm n ot oiling anything newer than the 60's.

I like to use full synthetic for electric motors.
Put it in a plastic squirt bottle with a plastic stem..

I bought a pallet full miscellaneous stuff at auction about 4 years ago. I wanted it for the wheel weight bolts. Included was an unmarked 5 gallon can of oil. I've been working away at that. It's pretty light, I think hydraulic oil.

Absolutely everything. We keep a gallon jug around (was once oil) with an oil can oil label on it. And any oil we use, instead of sitting and letting them drain every last drop into whatever, we just stick em in the funnel, let em drain into the jug. works great

Used hydraulic oil from our JD 4600! But I use some real good aerosol oil from Menards too, Liquid Wrench lubricating oil, much better than WD-40 for lubricating.

We just brush used engine oil on chains and things don't bother with an oil can for much just the drill press. I do in the fall get an old squirt bottle to oil gatering chains with on the cornhead. Dribble it on as they run.

Interesting topic.
The only oil can I have sits beside the drill press and contains whatever was handy when it emptied, which isn't very often.
