I don't see how you can improve on a long
lever. I suppose you could use a short
lever but then it would be much harder to
activate. You could use a longer lever but
then you would have to reach back behind
you to activate it. Not very handy either.

About the only improvement you can feasibly make is to convert the bucket to a hydraulic cylinder dump.
