Haying yesterday

Helped a friend of mine with haying. Spent all day raking on his 1954 Farmall Super M-TA. Runs great but no power steering and very grabby brakes plus steep hillsides. I'm feeling the strain this morning. Beautiful weather though. Michael

I know the feeling. It's been 35 years since I helped my FIL cut alfalfa with his '42 2N. The lack of PS really gives you a pounding, from gopher hole to gopher hole. We bought him a MF 245 for his birthday about 5 years later. Not because he couldn't afford it, but because he didn't spend money on himself. Sure put a smile on his face and it eliminated all necessary tractor work for me to do, as it was done long before I arrived. We both wished we'd retired the 2N ten years sooner.
