It's been quite a few years since these
three 340s have been out together. Finally
got time to fire up and wash em up.

i dont care what they say , those are the best looking series. right from the 240-660, oops 140. i am not into the tonka toys.

Here's the daddy of them all. My dad actually farmed a little with this one in the late 50s

ooh yes the W-30's were a good tractor. i still have dad's also. and have that exhaust elbow.

Where I live much of the farmland is diked and pumped. My dad bought that tractor for $125 and used it on the belt to run a 16 pump to pump out a 40 acre he had. It would run for days.

Nice!

I can't read the fine print on the 340, so how did you come to own #1?

Aren't those usually kept by the factory or go to a dealer as a display?

I like the 240-340 but would not want any of the bigger ones. I actually would prefer the 240-340- row crop with the wide front over the other models. I grew up around a 41 H, came to the farm when I was 6 years old and a 10-20 was traded in on it. Dealer never sold it and sold in the 80,s at yhe auction when his stuff was sold uears after closing dealership.

I stumbled on it at a farm auction in my area when the family sold out in the early 90s. They were the original owners. I never thought about the serial # for several years until I got done restoring it. All indications are its the original tag. About ten years after I bought it I looked up the owner and called him to see if he might have the original purchase receipt. Sadly, he said I just missed out. His mother had passed recently and they cleaned out her place and burned all the papers and she most likely had had it.
