Price increases

Lots of postings on price increases, thought to be price gouging. Just before the 1st of the year, I picked up a new sickel for a friends 492 New Holland, $324.26 was the price. Last week I was going for some other things and another friend asked if I would pick up his parts, happened to be another 492 sickel. This one was $410.00. Same part number, 6 months later.

What do you expect with the cost of fuel to deliver this stuff to the dealers.
Or as others will probably say its because your machines 30 years old, lol

I bought some hot dog buns today, same brand as i always get. The buns are and inch smaller at the same price. Sure makes your wiener look big.

The price of everything is up.
Food is getting so expensive if something is not done, we will have people going hungry.
Fuel is getting so expensive some are having a hard time affording enough to get to work.

Yet the company I work for picks up a trailer load of King Kooker outdoor cooking pots like you would use to fry a turkey from Metal Fusions and two trailer loads of fancy BBQ grills from BBQ guys every day.
Not to mention you can not find a empty seat on a airplane even on the red eye flight.

It takes diesel in a semi to deliver everything , at 6+ dollars a gal everything is going up and up

I was in the NAPA store today. Bought my usual can of spray primer that costs $6.99. Today when the counter guy scanned it was $9.99. Then I went to the grocery store. American cheese that has been $3.49 a pound is $5.49 I left it. The turkey lunch meat had had been $6.99 was $8.99. Then to the gas station where gas was $4.79. The guy next to me filled his motor cycle. He was complaining $20 for three gallons!

It is the same pretty much all over the world. I saw yesterday where inflation is at a 40 year high in the UK.

at 6+ dollars a gal everything is going up and up

The fuel surcharge for the week of 6/15 to 6/22 was 53.30%
That means if the normal charge to haul your load is $1000.00 this past week you were charged $1533.00 to haul that same load. A year ago it was 30.00% or $1300.00 and two years ago it was 25.60% or $1256.00
$277.00 spread over every item in a truck does not cover the kind of price increases we are seeing.

Lets say we are hauling frozen chickens from the southeast out to California.
About 2500 miles.
Lets say the load pays in the $5000 to $6000 range
$277 times 6 is $1662.00
So this load will pay the truck $1662 more today than it did two years ago.
Sounds like a lot.
But 40,000 lbs of 2.5 lb chickens would be 16,000 chickens in that load.
$1662 divided over 16,000 chickens is less than 11 cents a chicken.

And the Rubel is on the rise and Russia is
making good money selling oil to India and
China. I think that were the ones being
sanctioned

Can't get a flight because of employee shortage.

Remember when the airlines fired their best people because they refused the ***?

Very good analysis.
This kind of crisis combined with war makes the rich much richer and the poor poorer...

Kinda like saying the companies are making record revenues.. so we should shut them down... Inflation is everyone's enemy. Nationalizing and shutting down companies, with record inflation did not help out the folks in Venezuela. The communist ideology of killing the horse the pulls the plow does NOT work.

They were always an inch to long anyway. But next they will shorten the weaner so it looks the same.

How do you figure, the rich much richer and the poor poorer...

How many poor people are in the stock market?

FYI, All profits YTD in the market are Gone..

Hello George,

Are you still accumulating wealth through the market or just investing for dividends?

Vito

when a dollar is only .90 cents (or less) it only makes sense for selling prices to increase to cover the loss of value; It makes no sense to take a 10% loss by selling for the same price.
