John Deere x380

I own a X380 which is a very fine machine except I am having trouble deleting the annoying reverse feature where mower stops each time you
want to back up. I know it is a safety feature , but my youngest grandchild is 16 and not so likely to hide behind me while mowing. My
farmyard requires much forward and backward movements working around machinery etc. I am also worried about ruining the electric clutch.
My old mower had a yellow button which was easy to bypass.
How do you bypass a X380??
Thanking all in advance.

I have an x320 which is the model before the x380. There's a little handle that you pull when you are ready to back up. It is right next to the pto engagement handle. I am guessing you have something similar on the x380.

On my x534 under the hood behind the dash is the electrical junction box. With test light figure out what does what and run a jump wire to bypass the reverse switch.

As posted the RIO switch was an option, does your X380 have the switch? Do you have the Operator's Manual for it? If you don't have the manual, you can download a free copy at https://techpubs.deere.com/ . Do a search for X380 on the Equipment publications page. You will need your serial number as there are several choices based on serial number.
