Bed Unlinering

I bought a used pickup with a bedliner that I would like to remove so I can put a cap on it. It has a separate cap around the edge that appears glued down. Has anybody done this? How hard is it to get this stuff off?

If sprayed on, it will take a sharp razor scraper to get it off. if glued on it might pull off. Why not leave it in pace if it is not torn up? Jim

I don't understand why you need to remove the bedliner to install the cap. Or do you mean removing just the plastic cap on the top of the box sides?

My '97 F150 has that plastic cap on the top of the box sides with the bedliner tucked underneath the inside lip of it.

I didn't do a thing with it, I just put the cap on and clamped it down, 3 clamps per side.

It has stayed put with no trouble for 5 years now.

If glued try using an industrial heat gun/device and heavy duty razor scraper. Best regards. Wingnut
