Dare anybody to show me an older air filter

So I have a ready cab on my JD 3010. The
blower in the top dash did not work when I
bought it.

But seeing as yesterday here in East Texas
it hit 102, I decided to see about fixing
it.

I drop the panel and pull out the filter
and to my amazement it is marked July
1968.

Is that something or what?

So I thought I would start this
conversation to see if anybody else has or
have found anything like this before.

Not quite that old but I bought my 6070 Allis new in '83 and have yet to change the cab filter; blow it out 2-3 times a year and motor on.......

Donaldsons--I used to work there years ago in Oelwein, Iowa--Had a lot of different jobs there but the best one that I had was the production painter. Painted thousands and thousands of air cleaners about every color in the rainbow. The guns were automatic and usually I could set them so I didn't have to touch anything up. Used to be big orders but most manufactures went to what they called on demand ordering-which met they would only order what they would use in a short time. I only used liquid paint but after I quit went to mostly to powder paint. That's All---Tee

After blowing it out for 1/2 hour and being engulfed in barley seed and dust, I said to heck with this.

I went down to the Napa and got a new one.

Probably gonna keep it though just cause it's kinda neat.

Don't you figure after 10-20 years there
would be dirt or particles that would not
come out, this straining the blower?

How so? I don't follow you.

Yeah I miss spelled it. Donaldson Torit, Torit was aquired by Donaldson in 1974.

They make industrial dust separators for wood shops and the like.
