Ford 700 Series 3 Point Hitch Won't Work

Hello. I have a Ford 700 series that I just brought back to life after a real long rest in the pasture. I've got it running great but the hitch won't even try to go up. it just stays in the down position. Can anyone give me an ideal where to start as far as trouble shooting the hitch problem?
Thank you
Scotty

I'd start by putting a pressure gauge in the port under the seat and see if you have any pressure. The unloader valve could be stuck and will cause that type of problem. Also make sure the hyds are full and maybe prime the pump

If it has the piston type pump. loosen the hex plug on top of it , then crank engine over without starting it or be able to kill it quickly if oil comes up. If oil comes out from around the threads, you will at least know oil is circulating and problem may be under the seat.

You can open the bleeder on the pump and crank it over until you get oil... However, the unloaders on the control valve were well known to stick, particularly after sitting. Probably require removing the top to access that and try to polish it.

On top of the hyd. pump is 2 hex plugs. Does it matter which plug I take out and when I try to prime do I just crank the tractor by the starter until I get fluid or do I start the tractor and remove 1 of the plugs until I get fluid?
Thanks
Scotty
