Farmers in my hood have their irrigation pumps running.
Artificial rain.

In the 50s and 60s dad had irrigation.
Not like today. We had to manually move the aluminum pipes late at night when it was cooler.
I was the youngest and drove to tractor.
I enjoy seeing the Northern lights around midnight.
How are things where you live?
Any irrigation?

After the flood last week we are ok for now. Could use a little rain in Alabama. 100 degrees yesterday. Supposed to be hotter today!

We have irrigation on some acres, mostly all pivots now, but moved my share of pipe as you mentioned.

4 inches in the past week, so pivots are sitting for awhile.

Just finished our garden drip irrigation system yesterday. It is working perfectly. A storm last night drop about an inch of rain.

1.5 inches Sunday and same again this morning.
Been wet all spring. Had enough dry that we could get most ground seeded. Lots of puddles not worked this year and I welcome every drop of rain. Dry you get nothing, wet at least you get silage or green feed.

You can have some of our rain Was thinking about cutting some hay yesterday with a 50% chance of rain last night, got over an inch again. Good thing I didnt.

It is extremely hot and muggy for us and it's supposed to have a heat index of 115 to 120 today and tomorrow. Rain has been very minimal since the first heatwave of the year 2 to 3 weeks ago. The largest rain has been 3 tenths for us. Crops are going back rather quickly. A nice soaking 2 inch rain would definitely be welcomed. We need to be irrigating tobacco, but the weather reports keep promising severe weather every evening. I hate to get it soaking wet, then a good big wind put it flat on the ground. Corn is not faring good at all trying to pollinate in this dry heat.

Here in MA it is not that hot, but it is getting real dry and it has been breezy/windy. Nothing is stunted yet but all veggie guys are irrigation.

Moved plenty of irrigation pipe myself years ago. Still a lot of that around here in veggies but bigger guys have the rain reels and big guns.

Pretty much the same here Goerge just south of you. Thats weather and thats Indiana in the summertime always changing, hot at times cool at times, same as its been a longgggggggg time lol

Regardless of the weather we cant do much about lets hope the countrys NON weather problems like the economy, record gas prices and inflation improve and SOON, were all Americans and in this together...

Please be kind and respectful to one another

Best wishes to all here have a great day now

John T HOT in southern Indiana

we have been getting plenty of rain here the last few days and some in forecast Thursday. I would really like to cut hay. As for irrigation there are hundreds of piviots in my area.

I'm thinking of Neil Diamond's song Hot August Night.
Does anyone have a song Hot June Days?

I started spraying my fruit trees and the driveway early this morning. I used a 30 gallon pull behind tank sprayer. It took an hour and my clothes were dripping wet.

I'm no longer the man I once was. I think there's a song about that..

And a song about being hard to be humble.

Take care JT, stay cool..

I'm doing recliner duty early today..

Seems like it rains every other night here in NEO .

I dont think I know what its like to have crop water issues .

Hard to get three dry days to put up hay this year .

We've been having plenty rain here in East central Wi. We get a day or two of sun then a day or two of rain. Had rain Monday, 90+ yesterday with clear skies. Today they are saying possible severe storms later on.
