I've always loved that style of Chevy. I grew up with a '46 1 ton long bed pickup. Wish I still had it. Had a chance to buy it back once, but it was too far gone for me to take on.

We had a 45. Yes a 45 grain truck. It was built for the military but never saw action because the war was over before it was deployed. There was no chrome or any other option. Just basic truck. We used it into the 70s maybe 80. Cant remember for sure. But it is very distinct GM. No one ever mistook it for a Ford Dodge or Toyota lol

I love those teardrop headlights and set sides.

We had an old truck with teardrop headlights, not sure if it was
an international or dodge. The AC was cranking out the front
window. Then we got an eye full of dirt off the floor.
Wipers worked off the intake manifold vacuum.

My GP had a 5 window pickup..

I remember those old wipers--step on the gas and they stopped and let up on the gas and they would go fast

Somewhere I have the chrome snap on cover for the crank hole in the grille. Off my dads 46 1 1/2 ton

By far the most beautiful Chevrolet truck of that era. I had always hoped to find one that I could afford.......looks like I might only be able to afford a grille assembly to use as a wall hanger......still a real work of art.
