Or so I was told. John Block from the Galesburg,Illinois area was the Sec of Ag for Ronald Reagan. On a Ag in the Classroom tractor ride today we went past his farm, or maybe one of them Lots of livestock buildings.

Then we crossed a covered bridge on the Spoon River

That second covered bridge pic, where you are about to enter it, and another tractor just exited the bridge... is really cool.

I guess covered bridges are popular up North because the cover protects the wood making for a long life and keeps the road surface from freezing/icing in the winter??????
