720 headed to a pull.

Heading out tomorrow to the first stock vintage tractor pull of the season in our area. Located at Pioneer acres Irricanna. Alberta. Great facility easy to get to and a bunch of good people there. The 720 is running good. Not looking for any trophys just a bunch of fun.

Good looking tractor, I like the old JD two cylinders better than any other brand, got 5 of them under the barn, but dont have a 720, have fun with it

I will go on record that you have done a very good job of tying it down. Of course there are those here who insist that there is a deeply hidden rule that you have to have the handles of binders somehow tied down, even the ratchet type.

First gear, pile on the weights, and pull in the 10000 pound class.
Second gear, weights on the back if needed, pull in the 8000 pound class.
Pulled many times against a 720 with my MH 55...won some, lost some...
Have fun!

Thank you show crop. I have done some commercial hauling in Alberta and according to the officers at the scales we dont need to tie down the ratchet style handles.
Just the other style of load binders. The only thing wrong in that picture with the way Ive done things is I havent wrapped the slack chain around itself.

Have fun... that's a very straight looking 720. What kind of tweaking did you do, and what kind of numbers did you get from the dyno?

Hi coonie minnie. It is a nice straight tractor for sure. We adjusted the rpm it was running a bit slow. Wasnt getting much smoke working it hard so we opened up the fuel a bit and because it had been sitting for a long time the more we worked it on the dyno the better it got. Didnt get a picture but we got a 69 peak horse power for about 2 seconds.

looking good. these tractors do the best in class 4, 7000 - 8500 weight. it will have a time in class 5 in the 8500 - 10,000 range. you will be competeing with the bigger deere's up to the 820's and 830's . was going to say to add some 2 cycle oil to your fuel and even fuel conditioner as things get varnished from sitting. guess to late your gone today, lol.
