Looke like a fun project

The school I attended 1-12, had one that pulled a set of reel type gang mowers, to mow the athletic fields, and playgrounds. If you were in your sophomore year or above, up on your grades, you were allowed to work with the custodians, and help mow the lawns.

It looks a lot like the one in the linked video. A few years older than me.

A similar one was auctioned a few years ago. The auction ad listed a bit more information on specifications:

(quoted from post at 18:54:57 05/23/22) Weren't they called Tow-Motors?

No, Towmotor was a very popular brand of forklift. They were so popular that pretty much any brand might be called a towmotor bak in the sixties.

They are neat, but very heavy for their footprint! Leaving pavement on one is just asking for trouble. Those always missing hood side panels alone are probably worth half the asking price.

Same at my school back in the 40s and 50s. I always thought it was a war surplus piece of equipment but not sure. Our school lawns were perfectly level and it worked well.
