Broke the 6 bolts the the connecect the over/under to the drive shaft fange. Is there a simpler way other than removing the o/u to get the broken bolts out?

I have never worked on that model or been around one. I do not know what it takes to get that shaft passing by the ring gear out of the way. Then the fact that you will be drilling and creating a lot of metal shaving there it looks to me like pulling the O/U is probably the best option. It definitely looks like the shaft will not come out of the O/U without disassembly. If you do not get more replies here it would be best to post this in the Oliver topic section.

If you can get hold of them with a set of vice grips or pliers can you unscrew the piece left. IF so you might be able to get them back enough to finish them from the front side Then just screw new bolts in and go to work. I've not worked on one either though looking at your picture I would try it. If you have or can get a set of the ones with a curved tips it might be easier to unscrew them if you can turn them.
