need brake part for the John Deere B I bought

I posted down on the J.D. forum but so far no takers. I'm in need of the I gonna call it the pin that the top of the front shoe fits into for the John Deere B I bought a week ago. I've checked on this site and checked the Steiners catalog as well as Ebay and don't see any. Wondering if anyone by chance haws one for sale. Email's open. Thanks in advance, Keith

It's a 1950 styled. The part I need goes into a hole at the top and is slotted so the front brake shoe will slide into it and it holds the shoe basically in line along with the springs. I didn't look in the book but looking at it on the tractor, there is a little hex piece that I do believe is the adjustment. The pin is pointed on the end that goes against what I'm calling the adjuster and of course it is slotted on the other end and is roughly 7/16 to 1/2 in diameter. I can't find anything either in the book or online that tells me exactly what it is called. Hopefully this didn't confuse you too much. Keith

I think the brakes on a model 50 would be the same as on a late styled B. My 50 Parts Catalog calls those parts adjusting pins with part number B 227 R. Or there is a cam in that area also with part number B 3366 R

Based on your description and looking at the parts book, I think 55 50 Ron nailed it with part B227R. There are several listing on Ebay for that part, it is also available at a competitor to this site that starts with S...

"I can't find anything either in the book or online that tells me exactly what it is called."

Deere called it "pin, adjusting".

For future reference, the official parts catalog is on-line:

Keith,

I should have one or more of these B227R pins, but am not able to look/disassemble for a few days. I'll try to do that by the end of next week and let you know if you haven't located one before then.
