Some regrets buying an old JD mower.

I wanted a second JD275 so I could leave tiller on full time and mow with the other tractor.

JD275 was only made between 1995 to 1998

I found a mower in need of a mower deck. The same mower deck I had on the garden tractor. It's a battle for me to switch decks and install the tiller.

The tiller does a fantastic job

I regret buying a mower that was ridden hard and never put away.

Fighting the rusty steering gear box and damaged wheel bearing. One bearings was rusted to the spindle. Grrr

Mower works just like it did on the garden tractor

A man and his toys,,, I see who is doing all the work..Just break down and spend some mone get her a new KUBOTA to go with that other one..LOL

Google JD tillers.
They made many different ones.

Mine was designed for a JD 275, garden tractor. It won't fit a JD lawn mower.

I have the 30 inch tiller. The GT 325 is a garden tractor as well. I believe it is slightly bigger and heavier than the 275.

Only use the JD mower to trim.

Karen loves the Farmall. Good american iron..72 years old american iron..

I have two riders at my place up north.

I just wanted to keep the tiller on JD 275 full time.

Thought I would find another good JD mower.

Both JDs have a kawasaki engine 17 hp.

Both are excellent engines. Run like new

The JD 275 is between 34 years old and 37 years old..

Karen likes using yesterday's lawn mowers..

Some people think it's OK to leave mowers outside in the elements, not me..

Almost got the bugs worked out. I either need a tube or a new rear tire. I'll have to check my Inventory tomorrow when I mow the lawn up north.

If I were to buy a new mower, I would consider the new Michelin rear tires I've seen on some new JD ztrs.

Guys go flying and not bouncing.

I would have to buy Karen a mower it would be JD like her neighbor has with Michelins. Only a cool $37K. It comes with AC and a 38 HP diesel.

Mine is 17 hp kawasaki and the smaller lawn mower is also a 17 hp kaw, Plenty of HP.

IF it's a garden tractor the right tiller will work.

Definitely won't work on a JD mower.

The LX188 is a lawn mower, not a Garden tractor.
No tiller will work the LX188. I put the mower deck from my Garden tractor on it and will use it as a lawn mower.

JD 275 will have the tiller on it full time..

Garden tractors look the same. Just one hp bigger.

The John Deere GT235 is equipped with one of two engines: Briggs & Stratton 350777 V-twin gasoline engine (until 2003, serial number 090000) or Kawasaki FH580V V-twin gasoline engine (from 2003 to the end of production) and hydrostatic transmission with infinite forward and reverse gears. The GT235E version (2002-2003),

Briggs & Stratton 350777. It is a 0.6 L, 570 cm2, (34.8 cuin) V-twin natural aspirated gasoline engine with 72.0 mm (2.83 in) of the cylinder bore and 70.0 mm (2.76 in) of the piston stroke. This engine produced 18.2 PS (13.4 kW; 18.0 HP) of maximum output power.
Kawasaki FH580V. It is a 0.6 L, 570 cm2, (34.8 cuin) V-twin natural aspirated gasoline engine. The cylinder bore is 74.0 mm (2.91 in) and the piston stroke is 68.0 mm (2.68 in). This engine produced 18.2 PS (13.4 kW; 18.0 HP) of maximum output power.

The 1999 and under 325's had single cylinder 17 hp Kawasaki engines. Mine is a 2000 model that came with a 2 cylinder 18 hp Kawasaki. My uncle had the older model. His seemed to have a little more power than mine but started much harder for some reason. This is it along with the 2520.

Are you saying it would have been better to just find a different model mower with a good mower deck?

Yeah, but you got the LX188 CHEEEEEEEEEP, though.

Were you expecting a new machine? Fix a couple of problems, save a few bucks, not have to worry about swapping the deck and tiller anymore. Sounds like a win to me.

It would be better not to buy anything that has been left outside to rust..been run hard and left outside to get wet.

My old mower deck is like new, does a great job.

I'm winning, the lawnmower needs a lot of TLC.

More of a challenge than I expected from a John Deere.
