Rural King tractors

My brother is looking for a smaller tractor with a loader. Probably around 25-30HP. He asked about the new Rural King line. I thought he might be better off looking for a little bit older John Deere or Kubota, they seem to be about the same price range.
Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks, Barry

Any ideas or suggestions?

I only buy what a local dealer sells and services.
Sooner or later anything with a motor and wheels will need repaired.

If you're buying a $20-30,000 machine, probably be in your best interest to buy one that you can get service & parts for, and will be around in 5-10 years from now. Buying it from a big box store........where do you go for that sort of help 5-10 years down the road? Rural King tractors are someone elses tractors re-branded.

Would you buy a new a new Wal-Truck because it was $5000 cheaper than the Ford or Chevy models offered from a dealer? Service may be offered.......miles away.

Your money. Your gamble.

Neighbor has an RK tractor. Is dumped all it's oil out. It's been sitting since November. Can't get anyone to look at it. Told him I would take a look, but not familiar with them. I have a ford and a case.. I have a question once in a while but I can usually figure out what the problem is. New with dpf and def fluid I'd be lost.

He's going to look at a John Deere 2320 with a loader with under 200 hrs. Looks like 2011 was the last year made. Has a Yanmar 3 cyl. diesel.
I don't know anything about them good or bad?

My cousin has one. Bought it about a year ago. So far so good and he really likes it. They are Mahindra tractors with Yanmar engines.

RK tractors are made by TYM and in the sizes you listed, they will have Yanmar engines, he might look to see if there are any TYM dealers nearby and price their like models. They have a 2yr warranty on the entire tractor and a 8yr/3000hr powertrain warranty.

TYM is a huge company, they have their own line, plus Kukje and Branson, but also make tractors for various brands like Mahindra, Zetor, Allmand, Cabelas. It seems most of those South Korean tractor companies make a ton of tractors for many brands, even big name brands

My "idea or suggestion" is to do your research, or have him do his research.

Asking on a tractor forum populated by a bunch of green and orange-bleeding... Well, that's only the first step. The only advice you're going to get here is to buy a high-priced green or orange one.

Find out who makes the tractor.
Find out how long who makes the tractor has been in business.
Find out who services the tractor.
Find out how long who services the tractor has been in business.

That is if you need someone to work on the tractor. If you can work on your own tractor, access to worldwide markets and ordering online, you will always be able to get parts. It might take a while but you will be able to get parts from someone.

There are terrible green dealers and terrible orange dealers, so buying the high-priced machine is no guarantee that you will get service after the sale, or be able to get the tractor fixed down the line.
