Battery Replacement

I recently purchased a Ford 3000 tractor. Looking for a battery but having trouble finding one. It is a 3 cylinder gas. I would appreciate any help given. Thanks!

We used a Group 49 (H8) battery in our Ford 4000SU. It has nearly the performance of a Group 31 (which we try to use everywhere), but is a little shorter height. The Ford 4000 needed that slightly shorter
height to clear the hood sheet metal. Does your 3000 have a similar swing out battery tray, above the engine, like a 4000SU?

The stud top 31 will be less fooling around in the end with cleaning cables and no stupid lead clamp ends on posts that always get over tightened so stretched. Lead clamps are just a problem waiting for a place to happen usually at the far end of the field.

I have to deduce here that you mean you can't find the specific type of battery that is "supposed" to go in the tractor.

It's not that important. You don't need an overly large battery for this tractor. Even a small Group 24 which you can get at Walmart for about $60, will start this tractor in any weather.

Like others have said, there are a lot of options. The main issue to be concerned about is
the height of the battery.
