JD 4010 gas engine options

Wondering if the 303 Gas motor from a JD 95 combine is the same gas motor as an early JD 4010gas. Have a 4010 needing overhaul and figure it might be cheaper to buy a old combine and swap motors if I can find one cheap. Any help appreciated.

JD 303 is not a direct bolt in for a 4010. 303 has no bosses with threaded holes to attach side frames. Flywheels are different with starters on opposite side of engine block. It was from a different JD engine family than the original 302 CID.

You need a gas engine from a late 105 combine. It would be a 4020 engine. I sold a good one 2 years ago for $500. Tom

Thanks for the responses. I'll avoid that JD 95 and look for others.
