Got an Oliver 88 today. The guy I got it from said the engine was from a 1650. I have attached a pic of the numbers on the block if someone can confirm this. I think it's a 1952 the serial number is DSL14082C88 Also can someone tell me what color should the decals be? I have seen red or yellow for the numbers

Hi, nice looking Ollie, but the 88 came with a 265 cu in engine, and so did the 1650, the one you want to avoid is the 1600 engine, that was a 242[appor] engine, a neighbor got one, its was gutless, a 880 would pull circles around it! Maybe the compression is higher on the 1650,or a differant cam!!

Oliver 88 gas was a 231 cubic inch engine. A super 88 with a bore of 3 3/4 was 265 cubic inches. Some 1600s I believe were 231 s and later 248 cubic inches. A gas 1650 is also 265 cubic inches. We have a gas 88 puller at 283 cubic inches and a stock 1650 gas at 265 cubic inches. All numbers are for gas engines. Nice new ride !

Tell me more, inquiring minds want to know?
We're looking for a Super 66!
Was in the vet at AC this morning!

There's only five yards in Germantown! Wes

Bailey and I took the flag down last night, we had a ceremony to bless the new Columbarium at St Ludgers cemetery, after MayDay mass.

Wes, as you go south out of town, west side of the road, there was an older blind gent name of Rotert and his wife. He had a son that sold bulls in the area that owned the Super 66. Seems like his name was George. Anyway, it sat there for a couple of years until I stopped and bought it for my brother as a puller. He sold it to a guy at Halfway Mo. 2 or 3 yrs back. gm

I called Korves Oliver today and gave them the casting numbers on the block. They told me what I have is an 880 engine, and from the serial number on the tractor, it originally was a diesel.

Nice looking 88, the 880 motor will give you a boost in horsepower, that's nice.

Father in law is George's cousin
He and Gene his older brother bought the mates
At George's sale this past spring...

Elmer and Charlotte will celebrate 50 yr anniversary on memorial day weekend.

Bailey had the two little cousins on the 770 from George's sale, at the Appleton city parade

Wide front no sheet metal is George's 880 diesel. Gene bought it.

Stay dry today, Wes
