I have recently purchased what I believe is a 1958 Fordson 3 cylinder diesel been setting up several years been through the basic routine and bleed clean fill system on this have great pressure oh my fuel system using a electric fuel pump good pressure a cylinder one and so the three I can start the engine and keep it running by throttle on it but for my life I cannot get fuel on cylinder number two is there anyone out there who could possibly help me with this very frustrated and aggravated but don't want to give up

Dexta with a stuck plunger on #2 cyl. Take cover that says Simms off, see if can pry down and spray plenty lube in there and Change oil in cam box. Plug on bottom one on side in front of lift pump, fills on
top, big hex plug.

thanks guys I appreciate the reply I come tomorrow I will try both ways one changing the oil and trying to free up the pump the other swapping Sounders if it don't work and I will get back let you both know what the results were again I appreciate you very much

There is no oil in the cam box on a 1958 Dexta, that pump is lubricated by diesel as are all the other versions of those tractors. On the later, after 1961, Dexta and Super Dexta they had mechanical governors and the oil was to lubricate the governor unit not the pump. a pint of Automatic Transmission Fluid in the diesel will also work wonders.

It is a good idea to take the side plate off and make sure the plungers are working but be a bit careful how you free a stuck plunger, any scratching on the plunger itself could mean it will need replacing, a job best done by a diesel shop.

I am not for sure this is a 58 dextrose. I do know it was built in England under ford. The motor # is1451535,and the body stamp reads 957e50377. I'm guessing this is a 0. All this is in some crazy looking text. I did remove side cover, everything is operating properly. I also removed the #2 injector spring on the pump and wigled the injector Alitalia and to my unexpected, hopefully satisfaction it broke loose at once a certain diesel full quickly filled the cylinder. I screw the top back on and had fuel spraying out of top. I haven't turn the engine over yet,to see if that fixed the problems, but once I make a market for side plate I will try . Also there is oul in the pump housing, but what so I replace it with once drained?

Very good advice to everyone here. More likely to be scoffed at than taken by most though.
