I have been having trouble getting my heater to shut off or adjust on my 275 case magnum. Previously, I have been able to just stop the tractor, shut it off and restart it and it would blow cool air, now it just blows hot air . Wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and what would be the fix? Thanks for any advice. Greatly appreciated!

First I would have shut off valves in the heater lines. this reduces the amount of work the A/C has to do in warm/hot weather to cool the cab. I used to do that in my semi cab abd made a big difference in the cooling. Then I would check the coils for dirt and filters. After that check for compressor turning and if Freon/coolant is low or high. If it was charged last fall or winter it might be to full and if sat over winter might be to low.

Common problem with these tractors. There is a hot water flow control valve under the seat that is supposed to shot off hot water when air is on full, will allow a slight amount of hot water through depending on temp setting. Lots of failures with these. There may or not be a valve in the line. Local IH mechanic would put them in when we complained under warranty. Not too hard to put in if no valve. Does work wonders. I talked to the chief mechanic yesterday, he seemed to think that it was just as you described.They put me on their customer list. They are backlogged on customers.Is this something that I can accomplish myself doing or best left to the professionals? THANKS!!

Installing a heater hose manual coolant control valve isn't very difficult. Either drain coolant below valve installation site or gently squeeze hoses together with vice grip pliers & cut hose/install manual valve then check/add coolant.

Location of valve isn't important as any location of manual valve will stop water flow path through heater core.

Thanks for the reply. Problem is that I want to be able to control
the heat from inside the cab, just dont know where to mount a
manual control valve inside the cab.

Do a search for: "Four seasons heater valve".

You will find countless options for everything from;

-Manual control
-Cable control
-Electrical control
-Vacuum control

Personally I just use a manual inline valve, shut it off come spring and open it up in the fall but if you want to get fancy the parts are readily available.

A little tip here. I use needle nose vice grips to do this. I also take a short piece of 5/16" or 3/8" fuel line and slip it over the jaws of the vice grips to prevent damaging the hose when clamping.
