last year april 16 potatoes were planted in ground. this year we still have snow and won't be for at least3-4 weeks. Sure is amzing to see all the growing going on down south when we are still waiting to get to it here. Manitoba Canada.

Richard,

That looks positively beautiful!!

FINALLY our grass is starting to green up. Though no leaves in sight yet.
Was 31 degrees this a.m... and going to be in the 20's tomorrow morning. Ridiculous! :(

The black locust trees in front of the house are leafed out and that is a sure sign that spring has arrived.

Wish we could trade, mid 80s here and 90 degrees is just a week or two away.we get plenty of heat and humidity in Louisiana so winter/spring cant last long enough for me

Thats a lot of potatoes too me. Did you eat all those you showed canned last year? I like giving our overstock of beans to friends and family. They just never give the jars back, gotta ask for them. Sheesh!

We still have a lot on the shelves from years past.
Last year was a crop failure because of way too much rain.

Planted ours last Saturday. About 3 weeks behind. Our new dog laid in every furrow. She loves fresh plowed dirt. Incidentally, my wifes great-great-great grandfather came to MD from Cork during the famine. And our place was once a potato farm. They are very tasty but the bugs are bad and eventually kill the vines by August.
