620 coil wiring

Can someone tell me the correct wiring for a jd 620 with a
ballast resistor. All the diagrams I have are very hard to
decider. Just moved and my manuals are packed away in
a box some place.

Take a look at the diagram below.

Note the BLACK lead wire from the starter switch to the ignition resistor.

Take another look at the diagram below.

Note the BLACK lead wire from the ignition switch to the ignition resistor.

Take a look at the photo below.

Black wire to the resistor and from there to the coil. You have it correct.
