I wonder what the S/N is on that. It has to be in the 40's or 50's and has to be either a 6 or an 8. Reason for saying so is it's a 6 cylinder and back then a D-4 and D-7 were 4 cylinders with the D-6 and D-8 being just an extra 2 cylinders of the smaller model. So a D-6 had the same sleeve and piston as the D-4 just 2 more of them. The Caterpillar Diesel got dropped off from them about then too. If it was a 30's or early 40's ti could have spoked front idler unless it was changed with a later style. Sprocket would have been also. By the late 40's or 50's they had the sprocket teeth so they could be unbolted and replaced that way. I'm no expert on them just accumulated this information from what I have seen on them over the years and some of it may even be off.

Nice looking tractor. D6 9U, guessing 50s era maybe even late 50s with solid front idler and electric start pony motor. Looks like the handle
for BeGe hydraulic unit showing over the seat. Wish mine looked like that, Mike

Cabel control would have had two levers and no evidence of a blade no trunions for the push arms. Small; print mentions a ranch so like the other poster probably a hydraulic unit on the back common back in those days for farm work.
