I dont know what its worth but I like mine. I only wish it was half that nice. Feel like shipping it up to Nova Scotia? ;)

I ran one for over 20 years till it was worn out , they are good balers. Parts should not be a issue for it . I would not give more then scrap price for it.

My dad bought one new and it as an awesome baler. Very high capacity for that time. Ours had a thrower on it and it would make a 60 horse tractor smoke running it if you pushed it. Would load wagons faster than 2 good boys could unload them onto an elevator. Oonly issue we ever had with it was it always missed a bale when the twine balls changed. Never could get it to quit that. Otherwise never missed tying.

I would jump on it here are a few on tractor house for comparison

The only Massey baler I have been around put out perfect bales. Might be a different model of Massey though.

Guessing that it weighs around 3,000 pounds and around here with high scrap prices a yard would want 40 cents per pound to sell it. If you really want it and can get it for 600 dollars you had best get over there before they change their mind about it.

If someone took the effort to store it inside, I'd bet it works. It'd probably be worth his asking price, if it does.

It did it from new so wear was not the issue. The dealer tried for a long time to fix it but never did. We always just dealt with it. It didn't always miss at the knot, but when it did miss, it was most always at the knot.

I have owned three MF 124 balers and still have one that I use. I really like it. Those are called bowtie knotters and work differently from a NH or Deere. I have found the weak link to be the packer fingers that drag the hay into the bale chamber. I've busted two of them. I have one out back with bad packer fingers. I was going to pull the needles and knotters off and take the rest for scrap. Let me know if you want anything.
BTW, there are two generations of the 124. Look at the serial number and see if it starts with 1474- or 2183-. One visual cue is the width of the cover over the plunger rod. The 1474 is narrow and 2183 full width of the bale chamber. I don't think you could go wrong with that one, even at 600.00.

They are very good balers. If you don't like it then can resell it. I really like mine have owned it alot of years

My 124 bales perfect bales TOO. You have to cut the strings.I paid
1800 for that baler 5 yrs ago. My New Holland bales if they were
not Tight would get destroyed by the 1030 New Holland Bale
stacker. but the Massey bales could take the punishment.
