Hi Everyone,
Please help & guide if you can.
I am a novice in tractor knowledge & bought a used Deutz 2WD Air-Cooled Tractor from the 1980s but being such old, there are few items/information that are no longer available or visible (such as below) hence asking in case someone knows better:

1. The gear numbers & sequence markings on the gear lever and high & low indications is no longer visible, how can I ascertain such so that I may even engrave my own to serve as a guide?

2. Where on the body of the tractor can I read the Chassis number (Vin) of the tractor? I am struggling to get that...

3. How or where can I find out it's Horse Power?

I am able to send some pictures if that can help to identify models.

Kind regards

Widux

Tractors generally do not have a VIN number, but they all have a model number. Usually painted on the left and right sides of the
sheet metal as shown in the attached picture. Would usually be a brass or aluminum tag attached to the tractor with the model
number stamped on it. Model numbers such as D3006, D4006, D5006, D6006. Once you know the model number, order an operators manual
(this site offers manuals). Most of these tractors could have one of several transmissions such as 8 forward and 4 reverse or 12
forward and 4 reverse. The manual or tractordata dot com will give you the horse power. Note that Deutz air cooled tractors of
that era used the same engines with 2, 3, 4 or 6 cylinders and with or without turbos. Engine number F2L912 is just the two
cylinder version of the F6L912. Should be an aluminum or brass tag attached to the side of the engine. Horse power may also be stamped on the engine tag as it was on this Deutz stationary engine.

Hello Widux,
Just need a bit more info. If it is an 06 or 07, the tractor serial plate would be on the right side of the tractor on the frame part in front of the engine. The serial plate that Deere Mark showed is from the engine, which would be helpful but not exactly the full story. If it is a newer DX or Deutz-Allis, the tractor serial plate is also on the right front of the tractor, but in the side panel (which is kind of stupid since that is removeable and can easily be lost or swapped).

I have 5 Deutz tractors on the farm right now. An mfwd D100-06, an mfwd D130-06, a 2wd 7110, a 2wd 68-06, and an mfwd 6260. I should be able to help with more information. They are very sound and reliable tractors. If parts (beside filters which can be gotten from Napa, Carquest, etc,) are needed for them, which is rare, I find I have an easier time getting parts for them than my old American tractors and machines. I have a very good source; a dealer that has and continues to sell new Deutz tractors since the 1970s.

Hello Widux welcome to YT! You could try going
through the list on tractordata.com choosing those in
the year range you think you have. See link. To post a
photo you might try viewing in Modern view and log in.
View your post and click the Edit button to edit your
post. Then at the bottom left of that page is a ..Choose
files.. button. Select your photo from your device with
that. I think this method may preclude the new poster
photo block.
