jim, i dont get paper here, i will see if i can, the articles look interesting. i here some of the bee keepers talking about soybean honey, but i have never seen my bees in the bean field. .

They were saying maybe an increase of maybe 10-15 percent more with the right beans. The other article a lot about number colonies and amount produced, several states included. Looked over articles in a hurry when mail came. Also watched an interesting tv show Charlie Bee Company, link.

Local around here(west central Ohio), beekeepers get soybean honey late in the season, I am eating some currently. Seems to crystalize quicker than the early to mid season honey. They say it is due to more sugar content.

I live in what I would call northwest central Ohio, Next door neighbor has for I think 60 possibly 70 years raised bees. 40 mile from indiana line. Never heard of it. Had hives all over western Ohio and eastern Indiana. Would ship out large truck loads of honey, I never counted them but the 50 galon plast totes and I think 2 wide and 2 high and long enought stack to fill length of a 15 ft truck bed so you know that is a lot of honey. He once told me he was the biggest farmer in area covered here in Ohio with where his bees were. Sells a lot retail as well.
