It is listed on an approaching sale. I bet there is a reason for the steel and rubber combo. I've not figured it out yet. Anybody know?

Maybe they want to knock down stalks to protect the rear tires?

Can't help but wonder if the steel is in two halves that bolt on. Simple to install or uninstall, while leaving the rubber in place.

The sale is in Indiana. Not sure if there are many Amish in Indiana. Of course the tractor could be from anywhere.

I think John has it figured out.

Magnetize the front wheels to keep nails out of the rear tires.
My tire guy adds magnetic air to the tires. He says magnetic air increases his business, job security..lol

Looks like the air tires might still be in there. Maybe deflate, slide on steel, and reinflate?

I would guess it is to save the tires front getting poked by cornstalks or else used to mow pastures with thorns and brush. Years ago, some guys around here had an old tractor on steel just for mowing brush filled pastures.

Ohio is said to have the biggist Amish community in the states, Bigger than Pen that a lot think of as the biggest, Then Indiana is right up there close to Ohio with a lot in southern parts of state as well. Misouri also has a lot of Amish.
