Well starting tomorrow would be week seven. Of no start not even a hint of wanting to fire . But starting tomorrow or right now there is an update tractor is running

Persistence thats what it takes and also trying to figure out the problem instead of giving up.
All I did was after seven weeks I disconnected the wire off the alternator because this is a one wire system and it started right up
Now what the heck is going. Now hit the start button two revolutions and its running

Glad you have got it running, but I am with Steve the
wire you disconnected from the alternator where is the
other end connected? Something kind of fishy here
you reported that you had spark in one of your early
post on this you reported you have a ..bright blue
snappy.. spark, see link. Now you report you
disconnected one wire and it is cured. A change to
wiring tells me it was a spark problem. Help us to stay
out of this type of complex situation with a reply with
more info.

If it's a one wire alternator you need to trace that wire so it goes directly back to the battery, if need be put a ring connector on it and attach it to the battery positive post stud and forget about it.
Battery should charge and tractor should run.

Correction, you may need to go to the non-hot side of the ignition switch to shut the tractor off-otherwise the alt. may keep it running. But simple to determine that.

M. Groom, actually your first reply is more correct in my way of thinking. And secondly a true one wire alternator if wired CORRECTLY has no issue with ..run on.. or powering the ignition after the ignition is shut off. It is continually connected to a live battery circuit and has no interaction with the ignition circuit. That issue comes more into play when you are wiring in the excite circuit of a 3 wire unit. The true location of where a one wire alternator connects into the system relies more on whether or not the machine is equipped with an ammeter. In which case your second reply MAY be more correct. Sorry, not a Ford guy cannot answer if it has one or not. My guess is the OP is not going to post back and tell us what the real issue is because he may be to embarrassed to say. In my thinking providing such details is quite helpful on a site like this because it can help others from not needing ..to go the long way around.. to solve a simple problem.

This sentence from USED RED MN.

I got this tractor in a non-running condition. I will do to the best of my ability explain what I have tried to do to get this darn thing running. I will say that I looked up many NAA wiring diagrams and found one that I can understand. Then rewired tractor per diagram I guess looking back I couldve looked at my WD 45 and followed how its wired with the one wire system.

This tractor website Has what it seems that infinite amount of information

AC, very sorry to have made you feel as though I called
you out. I was aware of how it came to you not running
I read all your posts and did not feel as though I had
anything additional to offer to the earlier ones that was
not being covered by others. In fact I personally feel as
though I am disrespecting someone if I repeat what
they recommend with out mentioning them by name or
as ..other posters.. I am not saying I have not done it,
but I try not to. I am happy to see you came back with
a reply. In your earlier post which I placed a link to in
my other reply you say you have spark, then in this
recent post it would not start until you disconnected
the alternator. I have three questions, question 1 did
the rewiring take place after you determined you had
spark? If yes, then it makes your continued no start
issue make more sense. Because something got
misconnected accidentally during the rewiring.
Question, 2 what exactly is or was the wire connecting
to the one wire alternator connected to that was
causing the no start? Question 3, was there a 6 to 12
volt conversion completed while rewiring?

To MN thanks for The reply. To Geo-TH,In Yes there is gremlins around here LOL. Unbelievable I can hit the starter switch and it fires right up. Gas tank removed ,valve cover off, Jerry Rigged A little half-gallon small engine gas tank to the carb.
As far as the three questions thats way too much this late in the day LOL.
So Im gonna have to go back in one of my previous posts and no this is not going to become a fish habitat.
