Hardee trailer, implements hubs, convention questions

Awhile back I posted about a trailer that I have it was identified as a hardee brand.
It's got 6 lug implement 15 wheels and hubs.

Can you replace the implement hubs with regular trailer hubs?
I am sure it would take it would require different sizes of bearings

Thanks

Probably if you can find the right hubs and the right bearings to match but doing so might take a bit of looking an trying. Best way would be to pull one hub and then have a parts store match thigs up

What would be your reason for going thru all the expense and work?? Can buy 6 or 8 ply tires for those rims and repack the bearings and be good to go. Farm wagons carry a lot more weight than you will on that trailer.

I do not understand 30 + year old trailer and it has made it this far , what is your concern. Changing the bearings ,hub and wheels does not change the rating of the axel. If you are wanting to get a heavier wheel I think you can find a 6 bolt heavier wheel but like I said seems it had made it for years. I have a Hardee built two wheel that has been a fine trailer for years and it has the same wheels.

I am actually wanting to put regular trailer hubs 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern so all my trailers would have the same bolt pattern. I am wanting to redo the lights and put a 2 5/16 ball hitch cause I have converted all my other trailers to that size hitch so I can make long rode trips with it.
If I can get the 5on 4.5 hubs and the correct hitch I'll be using it to replace my 12ft trailer.

The rims are rusted to the point they will have to be replaced either way so I was thinking now would be a good time to convert it

Thanks

The bearings will not matter on the speed. You can buy bearings for the notil spindles on our drill and they are the same bearing as in one of the tractor front wheels. The bearing don't care about speed and the hub and wheels don't either. Just put some truck tires on, pack the bearings and go or put a grease fitting in the hub so you can push some grease in occasionally. I would see if I could get a wheel seal for oil so I could go to oil bearings. Lot of money for nothing.

Lights I understand.

Having one size ball on all your trailers for convenience I understand and in addition the higher weight capacity of it never hurts.

Wheels I can understand wanting to have multiple trailers with the same bolt pattern but this will come at a cost.

Rule of thumb the more bolts on the rim the more weight it can handle.

For example looking up generic implement wheels;

-6 bolt 15x6 wheel is rated at 3300 lbs.
-5 bolt 15x6 wheel is rated at 1800 lbs.

I have 3 of Hardees 8X16 trailer. The hubs and spindles will handle everything the undercarriage will stand. You WILL bend the undercarriage before damaging the spindle or bearings.
