I finished my yearly physical. Chest x ray looked good. I'm surprised about that, with all the bad things that went in my nose to my lungs. Lots of blood samples, all looked good. something new today. A camera, stuck up my nose down to check my throat. Nothing bad there. I don't think I would want to do that very often. Hope you folks are doing ok. Stan

Did they put a camera up your other end?
I had a colonoscopy a few months back.
I'm good for another 5 years..

good friend had all that done dock. said all was good died in the parking lot going to his car nothing is 100%

I'm surprised I haven't died from all of the chest X-rays I've had. All a part of routine physical exams. Partly my own fault for being a pilot in the National Guard after leaving active duty. Two FAA exams per year, one company physical and one military flight exam. I tried to space them evenly but was not always successful. They said: 'Not a thing to worry about' as they stood behind their lead shields. But hey, you have to die of something. I haven't taken a physical exam since retiring 3 years ago and I don't intend to.

Talking about x-rays my dad was x-rayed so
much as a 10 year old that they burned a hole
in his back that never healed and left scar tissue.
This was in Memphis, TN at the baptist hospital.
Dad always said they had a new x-ray machine
and the burn was from them trying to figure
out how to use it.
The upside of being in the hospital in 1927 was
that Babe Ruth came thru his ward speaking and
shaking hands with the kids there.

Bill, I had an x-ray every day for 42 days,on my broken femur. I guess they were checking alignment to correct the traction pull. Portable machine, no less, can still remember the sound of it coming down the hallway. Sounded wore out back then. This was 1986, so no life threatening effects yet. You'll probably see the same results, prayerfully.

I was in traction for ten weeks due to a broken femur and many x-rays and body cast for 4 weeks. that was in 68.

You guys have nothing to worry about as far as the amount of radiation you received during your x-ray. In the early 2000s I worked as an industrial radiographer in an oil refinery. One exposure with an Iridium-192 source exposes you to 5 times or more than a dose by a momentary x-ray and you might make up to 30 or more exposures a day anywhere from under a minute to as long as an hour. You are trained to control your dose by shielding yourself with steel and concrete items in the area and have a meter with you so you know what is coming at you. You wear a device that tracks your exposure amount and that has to be reported to the state you are licensed under. I am not growing a 2nd head yet. Wait a minute, I do have some skin tags on my back, ha ha. I think that is because my dad had them also.

My mother had been told she could not have children. She got sick. They took twelve X-rays. And saw me on the X-rays. The Dr was shaken.
