Early Ferguson vs. Ford

Anyone get flummoxed as a youngster when being familiar with Fords jumping on a Ferguson the first time to start it?

I once got a TE20 cheap at an estate auction because it wasnt running and the auctioneer cautioned that ''it needs a new starter and switch to run''.

200 people there and 199 didnt know how they actually start. They sure were surprised to find out what that S cast on the trans cover meant!

But yeah, switching from one to another can get you every once and awhile!

Haven't own a Ford 8n (yet) but yeah when I first got my TO-30 it took me several minutes to figure out what the "S" on the casting stood for. I figure it means "safety feature" heh heh.
